Why should adults train in the martial arts? Many people think that martial arts training is only for kids where they can be taught some respect, discipline, focus, awareness and learn self defence skills. But the truth is that teaching martial arts to children has only been around for a very short time. In fact prior to the 'Karate Kid' movies of the 1980's most martial arts schools declined to teach children and consequently the majority of the students were adults. Of course it is different today with many schools teaching children, teens and adults. Many adults now seek out traditional martial arts like aikido to get them fit, de-stress and teach them self defence. The byproduct of learning these skills is that adult students will automatically learn to respect themelves and others more, improve their focus and awareness, concentration, self disipline and so much more. Its never too late to start . You wont regret it!
