Our ‘Mighty Warriors’ (Children 7-12 year old) aikido program is designed to introduce your child to the basic concepts and physical techniques of aikido. In this program your child will learn the qualities of respect, focus, listening skills and to have a ‘never give up’ attitude. The Mighty Warriors program touches more on the traditional self-defence and physical fitness aspects of aikido.
Mighty Warriors utilise an age specific syllabus where they work on the technical requirements of aikido. Your child will improve their co-ordination and fine motor skills in conjunction with learning the basic and intermediate aikido movements and techniques. This will provide them with a strong foundation and a greater understanding of aikido and martial arts in general preparing them for the more advanced levels of training.
At West Coast Aikido Martial Arts Academy we also constantly reinforce the strong core traditional martial arts values of respect, self-discipline, focus, awareness and concentration in an easy to learn format.
- Learn self-discipline and build confidence.
- Develop respect for self and others.
- Improve coordination, agility and fitness.
- Mighty Warrior aikido technical requirements.
- Coordination drills and movements.
- Teaching of core traditional values.
Your child will learn in a disciplined, safe, fun environment where the emphasis is on cooperation and non-aggression. They will also learn how to be assertive and utilise their newfound self-confidence to combat bullying.
We have many gifted and experienced instructors who are enthusiastic about getting the best out of your child and helping to develop them to their full potential. All of our instructors have passed the government ‘Working with Children’ check and must complete our leadership program teaching requirements.
West Coast Aikido Martial Arts Academy has been teaching children since 1993. Our aim is to work with you as the parent in developing your child into the best that they can be and help them to be our next generation of black belts!
